When I saw the unique and creative books from I See Me!, I knew it would be something that would interest my children, so I was thrilled to review one of their books.
A Little About the Company: I See Me! was started by a married couple, Allan and Maia, who loved the concept of personalized books. After receiving a personalized book as a gift for their child, they thought the illustrations could have been better and that the story could have been more tailored to the child. So, Allan and Maia Haag decided to start I See Me!--"books that celebrate the uniqueness of each child." For their very first book, Maia wrote the book and developed the concept, then she and Allan brainstormed together to create characters. Allan is a talented graphic designer who located an illustrator for the book and helped finalize the design, while Maia created a business plan.
Each book features a story that is dedicated to your child, which helps build your child's self-esteem and show your child just how special he or she is. The books are excellent for helping children learn how to spell their name and learn vocabulary. Children love I See Me! books, as each one is custom made with his or her name throughout the story. I See Me! offers many different books for children, including My Very Own Name, God Loves You!, My Very Own Fairy Tale, My Very Own Pirate Tale, and more!

My Review: For my review, I selected the book, God Loves You! for my youngest son, Oliver. I am always looking for new books that are inspirational, creative, unique, or just fun for my children, so I was excited to see what the completed book would look like. It does take about a week or two for them to complete your book, since each book needs to be custom made with your child's name. I had asked for a special request, which was to have the entire family's names placed in the dedication spot in the book. With four children, someone always feels a bit left out when someone else gets something new, so I thought at least having the entire family's names in the book may help the other children feel included. The woman I worked with to order the book offered excellent customer service, and I was pleasantly surprised when I was told that they could fit all of our names.
The book arrived and we were all excited to read it. I love the storyline and the message behind this book. It celebrates my child as a unique individual, while also reflecting the love that God has for my child. Sometimes, I do read the book and say all of my children's names, because they love to hear it read that way and it makes them feel special too. The illustrations in the book are colorful and incredibly artistic. I was surprised at how much the book does incorporate the child's name, as almost every page does. It was nice to see a personalized book that doesn't just have the child's name on the cover or once in the book. I also like that the book has the dedication spot, where you can include a special date, family members or friends names, or a short message, such as We Love You or Welcome to the World.
I love that they offer so many different books, and I think we may be ordering some in the future. I know my girls would just love My Very Own Fairytale and my oldest son would probably like My Very Own Pirate Tale.
