St. Patrick's Day Crafts and Activities

Are you ready for St. Patrick's Day? Are you looking for ideas to celebrate the holiday with your children? We are huge fans of St. Patrick's day here, at least I am. Most of my family is of Irish descent, so it is my heritage and something that truly means something to me. Of course, the saying goes everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day. No matter what your heritage is, everyone can celebrate the day and have some fun while doing so. I have researched some of the best sites online to find ideas for things to do with your children for St. Patrick's Day, with everything from recipes to crafts to games!

Some Resources

Kaboose has wonderful information about the history of St. Patrick's Day and traditions.

Enchanted Learning has a wealth of information about St. Patrick's Day and plenty of fun activities. They have so many activity ideas, such as coloring pages, worksheets, and crafts.

About a Mom compiled a list of really cute St. Patrick's Day printable coloring pages, with cute shamrocks and leprechauns.

Family Fun has a ton of recipes, crafts, and St. Patrick's Day activities.

All Recipes has a ton of awesome recipes. I really love this site, because you can read reviews and see what others like about the recipes or what they changed. They have tons of St. Patrick's Day recipes, with everything from corned beef and cabbage to potatoes to an Irish breakfast.

Here are some cute craft ideas I found online.

Shamrock Stampers

This cute idea comes from Silly Eagle Books. You need a lid to some type of container, like a peanut butter jar or lid from a canister of cleaning wipes. Cut out foam pieces into the shapes seen below and then dip it in paint and apply to paper or use fabric paint and apply to a shirt.

Read her full post about this craft on her blog.

Bead Embroidery

This idea comes from Sally M from Flickr. This may not be something young children could do, but it is a cute idea that an older child possibly help you with.

Crochet Hat

This is a craft for adults, but it is very cute! This comes from LisaAuch on Flickr and she shares instructions for the pattern in this article.

List of Crafts

Due to copyright restrictions, I will no longer be using my Pinterest account to post pictures (unless I know they are legally free from copyright restrictions), because it is difficult to determine if the pictures used there are legal or not. I still would like to link to some of the awesome craft ideas I have found online, so please click the links to view pictures and see the instructions!
